Holly McCann's Piano Studio
About Holly...
Holly was launched into her musical career at age 11, by her mother who was her first piano teacher! She graduated with honors from Hartt School of Music, University of Hartford, with a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Accompanying. Holly studied Classical piano technique and pedagogy after graduating, with Burton Hatheway in Fairfield, CT, for 3 years.
Holly performs throughout the state of Connecticut as pianist and accompanist for a wide variety of singers and musicians, ranging from Broadway and Pop to Opera. She has been music director/conductor for many productions at the Warner Theatre, Seven Angels Theater, and Landmark Community Theatre at the Thomaston Opera House. You can see her performing and serving as music director at several school districts for musical productions, as well as, choral performances.
Holly previously served as faculty in private school education, and now maintains a full-time teaching studio at her home in Torrington where she teaches in-person and online lessons. She also frequently plays as a guest at various churches in the area spanning across multiple faiths.
In 2021, Holly self published her first piano technique book, Fake Book Fundamentals - which can be found on Amazon for purchase. Fake Book Fundamentals is now used by piano teachers around the world as a tool for learning chords and arrangements of lead sheets for all ages.
